JOB SUMMARY:
The School Centered Clinical Counselor, for The Educational and Mental Health Alliance (TEAM) program will provide guidance and instruction to foster emotional, physical and mental growth of clients through therapeutic intervention and positive role modeling. The TEAM Alliance Counselor will assist clients in accordance with established guidelines. The TEAM Alliance Counselor is expected to meet the program’s productivity target for billable service each week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Contact and meet children, as well as the parents/guardians of children, who have been referred for mental health services for purposes of intake, consent to treat, and mental health assessment.
  2. Provide professional clinical services, including but not necessarily limited to: biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans and reviews, individual counseling, group counseling, family therapy, TBS, prevention, consultation, aftercare planning, and termination reports.
  3. Consult with professional staff at the school regarding treatment planning, progress, and ongoing needs in a timely and consistent manner. Also provide mental health-related training to teachers and other school personnel.
  4. Contact and meet with parents of clients for purposes of ongoing training and service coordination. Contact may include home and community site visits.
  5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards. All documentation to be submitted within set program deadlines.
  6. Provide school personnel with consultation, collaboration, prevention services, and general support on an ongoing basis.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  4. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Education:  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or Master’s in Clinical Counseling. Master’s Degree preferred.
  2. Licensure:   Valid Ohio LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC.
  3. Competency/Skills:

  • Professional & Ethical Conduct: Adhere to professional values such as honesty, personal responsibility, and accountability; Applies ethical concepts within scope of work and adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Function effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Recognize problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
  • Service Orientation: Anticipate, recognize, and meet the needs of others, whether they are clients or not.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
4. Experience: Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

Other: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company. Must be approved by Bellefaire to transport clients in own vehicle.
