Psychiatric Provider Assistant- Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:  The Psychiatric Provider Assistant (hereinafter “Assistant”) is part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and will provide clinical support in documentation and other activities relative to the practice of the assigned provider and the relative nursing support for orders, documentation and communication. Further, the Assistant provides administrative, clerical, and practical support for the assigned attending provider. This position reports directly to the Director, Office of Healthcare Coordination (OHC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Assist and support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the assigned attending provider for the purposes of documentation, treatment, scheduling, and communication efforts surrounding the attending providers practice with the residential clients.
  2. Assist with documentation and communication of all treatment and interplay between the assigned attending provider and the interdisciplinary team.
  3. Facilitate communication and collaboration among nursing staff, clinical staff, and the assigned attending provider.
  4. Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts and coordinate client admitting, discharges, transfers, and other operational issues as related to documentation, communication and support of the assigned attending provider.
  5. Assist in ensuring that all regulatory standards are maintained.
  6. Assist in the transmission, documentation and execution of treatment, care, and communication to patient clients in accordance with physician’s orders and direction.
  7. Participate in Quality Improvement as indicated.
 

OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  2. All required training, certifications and licensures must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Education:  Graduation form an accredited Nursing School required.
  2. Licensure:  Valid Ohio LPN or RN license required.
  3. Skills/Competencies:

  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Functions effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Recognizes problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
  1.  Experience: Experience working with children and adolescents required. Previous direct interplay and support of provider and physician team experience preferred.
