Certified Nurse Practitioner-Summit, Medina, Lorain- Part Time
SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner will work in coordination with outpatient counseling services, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors, to provide psychiatric services to clients with mental and behavioral health issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Provide preventative and rehabilitative psychiatric nursing procedures to Agency clients. Coordinate, monitor and evaluate assigned clinical, psychiatric and other services as assigned.

- Treat, examine and render care to patients with emotional disorders. Plan and regularly re-evaluate patient care needs as needed.

- Observe and monitor patient reactions to medications and procedures.
|
- Provide verbal and written instruction of situations requiring emergency intervention.
|
- Act as a member of an inter-disciplinary team to develop acute patient care plans, case management plans, and utilization reviews.
|
- Initiate plan of treatment and makes necessary revisions. Initiate appropriate referrals to mental health agencies.
|
- Supervise/evaluate patient's self-care abilities and care given by family/others.
|
- Complete, compile and/or maintain clinical records, statistical forms and follows established billing procedures.
|
- Coordinate/communicate in-house services to maintain continuity of patient's care. Initiate and/or participate in appropriate patient care conferences.

- Maintain current and accurate patient records reflecting patient's condition, nursing needs, observations, actions taken, treatment and progress.
|
- Participate in developing and maintaining expected standards of quality patient care.
|
- Report all suspected cases of child abuse and/or neglect in accordance with agency policy and state reporting laws.
|
- Participate in departmental, agency and community meetings or activities and record reviews as required.

- Assist with orientation and guidance of new staff members as required.
|
- Participate in agency's quality improvement though identification of outcome criteria.

OTHER DUTIES:- All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards
- Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
- Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education:- A Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in mental health is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with experience in Mental Health/Psychiatry
- Licensure: A current valid Ohio RN license is required

- Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions
- Practical and creative problem solving skills.
Experience: Experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disorders is preferred.
