JOB SUMMARY:
The Admissions Specialist ensures the appropriate placement of clients throughout our array of treatment services; or referral to services of other agencies if appropriate. The Admissions Specialist is the initial point of contact for the Lorain County Office and the point person in connecting clients and families with services for our office.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
- Licensure: Valid Ohio LSW or LPC license preferred.
- Skills/Competencies:

- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Recognizes problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
- Experience: 2-5 years experience in mental health field.
Experience working with children, adolescents and their families.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Admissions Specialist ensures the appropriate placement of clients throughout our array of treatment services; or referral to services of other agencies if appropriate. The Admissions Specialist is the initial point of contact for the Lorain County Office and the point person in connecting clients and families with services for our office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Create a warm, welcoming, helpful and professional atmosphere in the office for all clients and staff.
- Work with guardians and referral sources to determine the most appropriate Agency program to suit the client’s need and funding stream.
- Identify appropriate treatment placements based on verbal, written and face-to-face interview to with clients.
- Manage a varied caseload of therapeutic programs out of the Lorain County Office. Interact with all agency programs as needed for coordination of services.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining client files in accordance with licensing and accreditation rules. This includes opening new clients in the electronic health record and updating the system when changes of status occur to ensure consistency of database information in relation to individual client record.
- Ensure proper funding of all cases, which includes communication with insurance billing, school districts, mental health and case management teams, etc.
- Serve as primary point of contact through admission with clients/guardian/referral sources.
- Ensure appropriate coverage of Admissions email/helpline when out of office to ensure timely responses to referral inquiries.
- Assign supervisors and/or staff to complete full psychiatric diagnostic assessment (Mental Health or Dual) and Individual Treatment Plan to guide initial treatment services as needed. If appropriately licensed, the intake specialist may assist with completing a psychiatric diagnostic assessment as needed.
- Make appropriate referrals/recommendations to other agencies in the community if Bellefaire JCB is unable to cover the needed service.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going trainings.
- All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
- Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
