QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Education:    Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or Psychology required.
  2. Licensure/Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with supervision requirements met. Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) required.                                                                Educational Aide Permit – Ohio Department of Education (or other applicable ODE license)
  3. Skills/Competencies:
  • Pass Safety Care Core Curriculum by passing the written exam, attending the full duration of training, participating and passing the required role plays, and demonstrating the full competencies up to and including the Two-Person Stability Hold required.

      4.  Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst required.
  • A minimum of 3 year of experience supervising Trainees (those pursuing BCBA certification) required.
  • Experience providing administrative supervision.
  • Experience planning and providing group supervision.
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, Functional Analysis, and writing Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Experience working with children with autism and related disorders.
  • Experience in crisis management.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of the Behavior Department is charged with responsibility of providing administrative supervision to Behavior Analysts and Behavior Specialists within the Behavior Department. In addition, training and supervising Trainees (individuals who are pursuing their certification in behavior analysis) or those certified through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB®), such as Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). The Director of the Behavior Department must maintain and enforce Monarch School policies and procedures.  The Director of the Behavior Department is required to oversee the development, monitoring and managing of individualized Behavior Intervention Plans for all Monarch students across all classroom settings. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Provide administrative and clinical supervision to the Behavior Department and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
  2. Serve as a member of the administrative team at Monarch School.
  3. Facilitate relationship building between both Monarch School and Monarch Boarding Academies within the Monarch Education Residential Program.
  4. Provide and assist in the application of school-wide recommendations regarding Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports.
  5. Develop and maintain a system for behavioral data collection and analysis.
  6. Review and provide feedback for all written work including Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, behavioral progress reports, behavioral components for ETRs and IEPS.
  7. Generate and maintain program materials to support positive student behavior.
  8. Consult with parents or guardians regarding in-school Behavior Intervention Plans.
  9. Oversee and monitor all incident reports and provide staff training on both internal and external reports.
  10. Provide oversight on the use of Restraint and Seclusion and maintain data and documentation on the use of each.
  11. Serve as a Safety Care Trainer for Monarch School and provide both agency and school trainings for both initial certification and recertification.
  12. Provide ongoing Behavior Skills Training (BST) to all staff on behavior analytic principles.
  13. Disseminate behavior analysis school wide and create and provide trainings for professional development.
  14. Provide clinical supervision of Trainees in accordance with supervision requirements (5% of monthly hours for RBTs, scheduled hours with Trainees).
  15. Evaluate and provide performance feedback to Trainees and RBTs.
  16. Adhere to the Supervision Contract that is signed between BCBA Supervisor and Trainee.
  17. Assist in planning and facilitating group supervision meetings twice a month.
  18. Ensure BACB supervision requirements are met and logged accordingly.
  19. Provide training to department on how to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Functional Analyses (FA), and conduct them independently as needed.
  20. Develop/Train supervisees to develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans based on FBA or FA results.
  21. Monitor/coordinate implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans prescribed by supervisees across school settings.
  22. Assist staff in: defining behavior, understanding principles of reinforcement, teaching and strengthening new behavior, implementing strategies for weakening behavior, and identifying antecedents and consequences to behavior.
  23. Provide feedback for behavioral goals and objectives in the Individualized Education Program (IEP). 
  24. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  25. As necessary, utilize Safety Care procedures, including at a minimum, make use of the necessary Two-Person Stability Hold.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respect the privacy of students and hold in confidence all information obtained during the student’s treatment. All student-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board ®.
  6. Other duties as assigned by management
