POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Summit County office is looking for a full time Therapist to join our Functional Family Therapy (FFT) team. As a clinician on the FFT team, you will be specially trained in this evidence-based model focused on collaborative, integrated in-home treatment services for families with a child or adolescent at risk of or returning from out of home placement.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Accept assignment of cases as assigned to provide home or community based FFT services.  
  2. Provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients.
  3. Utilize the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18.
  4. Carry a required caseload as identified per model or Supervisor discretion, providing services anywhere from three to six months.
  5. Provide and participate in the following services, including, but not limited to:
    1. evaluations and assessments
    2. participation in the development of the client’s Treatment Service Plan (ITP)
    3. crisis work – providing assistance and support in crisis situations
    4. support, including education and consultation for families and/or significant others regarding the clients’ mental illness
    5. family interventions; symptom monitoring and self management of symptoms; assistance in increasing social support skills and networks
    6. coordination of necessary evaluations and assessments; coordination of all services identified on the client’s ITP
    7. necessary follow-up to determine if services have adequately met the needs of the client
    8. access to resources in the community
  6. Work a flexible workweek and provides evening and weekend on-call coverage on a rotating basis.     
  7. Maintain and keep all required trainings, certifications and licensure current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  8. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, consultaion with the FFT consultant, individual supervision, and on-going training.
  2. Coordination with other child serving entities per individual family need.
  3. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Master’s Degree and valid Ohio License in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Counseling (LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW, LPCC, IMFT) required.
  • Prior experience with systemic family therapy and/or evidence based models a plus. Work hours are flexible, some evenings and/or weekends required.
  • Candidates should be familiar with the complex needs of clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and must be competent in the provision of Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Case Management and a Multidisciplinary Team Approach to treatment.
